Okay, someone educate me here. Is GG and GS technically only at such a 1-away, 2-away situation, or the effective equivalent (e.g., 2-away, 4-away with 2-cube), or can the terms also be used, as I generally do, in other dire circumstances. Example, 2-13/15 post-crawford with cube turned. Obviously, a GG situation for the trailer. Is it technically GS for the leader, though the match is not in the balance for him/her?

Nonetheless, with my 5-5, I don't care if I get gammoned, only want to win. So, with my 5 pt. board being better than opponent's 4 pt. board and me with only 3 pip lead after the roll, I don't think it imperative to close my board now if I'm required to introduce significant risk to do so. So, I'm playing bar/15, 14/4. I don't give him the six shot, I block sixes, threes, and twos, and I don't get hit with those pesky sevens.

IMHO, only real alternative is bar/5 but then I'm seven away instead of 8 away. I'll go with the eight away. No way I'm leaving that six shot.

bar/15, 14/4. Final answer.
