GG is traditionally considered "equivalent to -1,-2C". Meaning gammons don't matter for your opponent and the gammon price is 1.0 for you, so gammons are worth as much as a win to you (meaning if you turn a win into a loss for every win you turn into a gammon, you break even). And typically there are no further cube considerations.

So scores like -2,-4PC with -2 holding a 2-cube is GG. But other scores are not because the gammon price is less than 1 and may actually be no better than for money. So when making decisions over the board, if you know the GG answer, you can't use it blindly at these non-GG scores. While your opponent's gammons are still dead, yours are not worth as much and thus while you will not care about gammon losses, you tend to want to put more value on your wins than at true GG.
