Neil replies... a lot of the fun and interest for many players who attend BG tourneys is watching other matches. This is much more difficult when the match is being played on a LT screen rather than a normal BG board. Therefore here is somewhere that I disagree with many of the young new lions in our game. I know it is nice to play on a bot and have the match instantly recorded, but guys, you are W/C players or 1 tiny step behind that level. So many lessor players, beginners and intermediates are happy to watch your match and see what they can learn (yeah yeah..tell them to go study with Snowie or GNU..but they and others still want to watch).
So with that in mind and I may be quoted. I'd never allow any match in any event I'd ever run to be played on a lap top (unless it was agreed on by both players and a finals or semis and them put up on a screen for all to watch)
