6/1, 8/4* for maximum blitz potential. Pointing on the 2 doesn't accomplish the same thing, for these reasons: a) the point it leaves slotted, the ace, is a second deep point. That would not be as valuable to make, regardless of our game plan, as the 4 point is. This is not a contradiction of the principle that in a blitz, deep points are as good as high ones (though that truism should be taken with caution); the problem is that if the blitz busts, we we'd rather he have our 2 point than our 4 point, for future cube opportunities at this score. We also don't want three checkers behind any anchor he makes, rather than just two. b) The blitz is more likely to succeed if we have three direct ways to cover the blot we leave instead of just one.
