In Response To: Bill Riles vs Chuck Bower Pittsburgh Cube Decision (Bill Riles)

I saw 27 hitting numbers, an 8-10/11 Crawford deficit if I lost (with some limited potential to lose a gammon), a number of market losers, limited potential for me to gammon Chuck, and a lot of pressure on Chuck to take a risky cube.

I missed with a 5-2 (playing 15/8, maybe erroneously opting to not play a good 8/3, 5/3 option) and Chuck cleaned up with a 5-2 of his own followed by 3-3. Game, set, match.

Afterwards we had an interesting discussion over the board. I second-guessed my recube and thought Chuck had an easy take. Chuck thought it was a good recube and second-guessed his take. He rolled it out overnight in Pittsburgh and told me Sunday it was a coin toss on the recube and an easy take.
