I'm all for winning the game, Neil...it would be a nice change of pace, if nothing else. And I agree that your play of 24/15* should win more games, since it does two good things: escapes a back checker and by hitting, gains seriously in the race. But I believe a rollout according to score would show that the blitzing play of 6/1*, 8/4* wins the most of the specific type of game we need most right now: doubled gammons! And I feel comfortable saying that this gain will be sufficient to exceed the gains from the added wins with the other play, though it's probably close since this score isn't true Gammon Go.

(OK, OK, the type of game we actually need most is redoubled backgammons...LOL)
