"When you play well, you create good rolls for yourself and bad rolls for your opponent. Your equity prior to the roll is higher to begin with. So then when you get a good roll (or your opponent gets a bad one) it is expected and likely and so not particularly lucky"

But if a good roll is expected for yourself it makes the bad ones all the more unlucky.
