In Response To: Some questions about hedging in tournaments (Rich Munitz)

You opponent's behavior was certainly inappropriate. I never hedge under any circumstances. One of the advantages of this is that I can usually avoid hurting anyone's feelings. I can truthfully say that my refusal does not reflect on my opinion of my opponent's ability. Of course, there is no protecting a player from himself if he insists on honesty like in the story above.
