Is there any psychology involved as well? For example a player whose hedge offer is refused now thinking he is an underdog?

It is sometimes possible to have some fun when you know there is no chance of a hedge. When I was introduced to Gus Hansen before our Cannes final I said "Hi, I'm Bob Koca. Sorry but I don't hedge." John Clark suggested that.
