Some questions about hedging in tournaments

In Response To: Some questions about hedging in tournaments (garyo)

Regardless of relative skill level, I often want to hedge if I feel the differential between the winner's take and loser's is 'too large' (at least for me). In events with substantial 4-digit prizes, I especially like to hedge at the round where the loser gets nothing.

In these cases I'll still offer to hedge with someone I don't know.

Hedging can be used to compensate for the relative the skill level of the players OR just to smooth out the prizes awarded, regardless of perceived winning chances.
