Noting 3 checker to leap with a 6 for us vs. two to enter with a 4 for our opponent, and that failure to perform for both players works in our opponent's favor, it might seem a bit premature. However, the question here is how bad is it to lose that battle? Blue is way ahead in the race and white will need to clear the outside prime. Blue will retain solid racing chances in this game and white will not have a recube for a very long time even if he enters first. So between blue's immediate big swing market losers on 6's and his substantial winning chances even when losing the escaping battle, I'm cubing this.
