clock "ETHICS"

So, all you guys who don't like these ethics, or whatever you want to call them, do you really disagree with Patrick's second point:
The point of the clock is not to create traps for the opponent, but to have the match proceed at a proper pace. Opponent clock errors such as above are in a completely different category than illegal checker plays.
Stick says he wants to play "legal moves" and is happy to do so against anybody.

I'd be happy to play "cutthroat clock" -- if you roll a 62 from the bar and you think you danced and hit the clock, only the realize one ohnosecond later that I had the 3 point but not the 2 point, I'm fine with letting the clock hit stand as your move. And when I mess up and you hold me to it, I promise I won't complain one bit when it bites me in the ass.

Believe me, I understand the mindset of those who would rather not be held to these concepts -- but I think what we should do is have a kinder, gentler transition into clocks. The world of chess has an entirely different standard about clocks, and it is very, very stringent -- maybe we'd like that ultimately in BG, but not today. Chess players also don't have a problem about introducing clocks to their game, because they would find it inconceivable to play a tournament chess game without a clock.
