I don't care what the score is, making the 10pt is the clear cut winner in my book. It not only makes a very useful blocking point (which is turned into builders for the attack later when your opponent is forced off the anchor) but it also gives you a spare to play when not hit. When you push 16/7 next turn what are you playing? Killing a checker to not leave a shot?

People are also talking about it leaving more shots, does it? I'm certainly not hitting if I roll 54 and I can't lay to hitting if I toss a 63 neither ats! So as the amount of actual shots it leaves is in question as to whether it's more or the same and making the 10pt makes a point with many uses and leaves a better spare to play one can only conclude making the 10pt is correct by a mile.
