In Response To: ANSWERS to Really hard 1950s baseball trivia (Marv Porten)

Before Dodger Stadium was completed in Los Angeles, the Dodgers initially played in the L.A. Coliseum which was reconfigured from a football field to an oddly proportioned baseball field. The leftfield wall was 250 feet from home plate and the power alley in rightfield was about 440 feet. Wally Moon, a lefthanded hitter, instead of trying to pull balls to rightfield, perfected an inside-out swing to loft balls to leftfield for homeruns. They were called "Moon shots."
