In Response To: 21 at DMP (Martin)

Here is what I have learned.

Volunteering with 13-10 doesn't cost much. White usually doesn't hit. (That's probably why 13-11, 2-1 plays well too despite the lack of duplication.) When he does hit, it usually doesn't help much. 44 & 41 are the only responses where volunteering has a serious cost.

Holding the board helps.

Increased contact on rolls like 54 & 64 (as pointed out by Richard Munitz) give a big swing to 13-10. I missed how big this factor is.
