Is bitching rude?

Dave can be pretty tightly strung. I was having my way with him in Denver last year when he began bitching seriously. It seems that every good roll I got was the result of inadequate shaking of the dice and/or improper rolling of the dice from the cup. He was very vociferous about it. As I've never had a prior complaint in 5 years or so of heavy ABT attendance I have to think I was doing nothing wrong. And, to his credit (?), he did apologize after losing the match.
The funniest one I ever experienced was with Steve Sax. I like Steve a lot and his intense competitiveness bothers me not at all. We were playing in Atlanta a couple of years ago in a Master's event which was clocked. Steve was predictably handing me my butt but I had rallied a wee bit to make it something like a terribly threatening 3-9/11. We both had tons of time left but Steve got annoyed that I was only using a couple of seconds of my buffer in shaking/rolling while it was often taking him the full 12 seconds, or more, to hear the right sounds. He suggested it would be fair if I, too, shaked longer so as not to have an unfair time advantage. I laughed -- and suggested there was another solution. I went on to lose soon thereafter.
