Do you consider slow play to be "inappropriate"

It is not at all unusual for a player to have a hot weekend and advance well along in each of the three events. Should other players suffer for that or should the player that entered three events (knowing the potential for conflict) have to make some choices?

I've seen it a number of times. Petko and I were forced to play a doubles final in Cleveland 2-3 years ago beginning shortly after 3:00 am Sunday morning because one of our opponent doubles finalists was still alive (in like the semis) of both a Masters/Jackpot event and the Championship.

Mark Gordon had the same complication in Pittsburgh this year. I think Falafel's advancement in three events caused much of the problems Richard experienced in New York this year. I'm not knocking these guys, but I think the directors should address the impact such circumstances have on the tournament as a whole and on all of the participants.

Sure, that individual doesn't mind the delays since he's winning. However, perhaps half the people in the tournament are consequently inconvenienced by the myriad complications of his good fortune in three events.

And, to date, most tournaments are unclocked in all of these events. It gets ridiculous.

A number of tournaments do not allow someone to play doubles if they're playing in a Masters/Jackpot event. That is wise and considerate.

Clocking all of the events -- particularly doubles -- would certainly help. It is nice to see that CJC is clocking all doubles matches at her tourney this year.
