Time to talk about time settings

One detail: The published US clock rules aren't 'ABT' rules, they are US clock rules. The ABT doesn't have any real authority over US backgammon or its directors, it merely collects points and awards trophies.
Directors continue to be given freedom to modify the rules they use at their tournaments, without asking anyone's 'permission'.
After about 20 clocked ABT matches for me, I feel 12/2 is more than enough, and an appropriate number for both the delay and reserve.
18/2.5 for doubles should be enough to 'crack the whip' and get those endless doubles matches played; any more is just indulgence.
