In Response To: Positions Less Experienced Players Can Learn From (Bill Riles)

Players are so terrified of having two blots exposed, especially when a sick roll has caused it. I've stolen pts like this before also, and can consistantly do it online. Although this maybe a money beaver, I hope I'd be able to read a pass from my opp OTB.

However, the last time I cubed something like this OTB, (I was wrong by .07 so not as extreme as here) my opp was acting like a passer, but then stopped to try to count shots (which he couldn't quite do) and then stating that he's not going to let me beat him 1 pt at a time, took.

My experience indicates that most of the rest of you are more likely to be allowed to steal than I am, although I'll try it from time to time. I get to steal fewer of these, than in the past, partly because players are better and partly because lots of players want to jack up the cube vs me. Of course, I still have to play BG and cube and recube and take when it's clear to maintain pressure on my opps. I was too wimpy and cautious with that stuff in Madison last year, but ended up with a happy result anyhow.
