For a general answer let me just give you the parameters (Choose Custom under the rollout settings):
- [Under the General tab] Number of games will depend on the results, typically 324 games is where I look at the results and decide whether or not to extend them
- Play ply = 3 Ply
- Truncated when reaching bearoff database
- [Under the Cubeful tab] Make sure "Rollout with doubling cube in play" is not selected.
- Cube Ply = 3 [even though you're not using it so it doesn't matter, it's best to set it for when you do use it rather than forget about it til the rollout is over and you're pissed off!]
- Settlement: 0.55 at cubevalue 16
- [Under the Advanced tab] Random generator seed: 0
- Speed Parameters = Precise
I will go on record saying there are many different settings you can use and once you get more comfortable w/the settings/Snowie/rollouts you'll realize there are positions that you can use 1 ply or 2 ply and get a meaningful results, there are positions where truncation is useful, etc... I find these the best settings to make sure of a clearly accurate rollout without wasting too much time [cubeful rollouts lengthen the # of games needed to reach statistical signifigance by a factor of 1.5 possibly more]
