I am not sure what you mean here. My suggestion was for a play vs play choice. Note that I am not proposing that a good roll for one side is countered by a good roll for the opposing side. If that was used to analyze how often a race from a particualr position is won it definitely would give bad results as it does not give the trailer the chance to get lucky while at the same time the leader gets unlucky.
