My opinion here may differ strongly from others since I think GNU can play this position-type better than most humans. I have studied trapping lots over the past few months. (Look at Corbett's book for some examples) Often when I felt that trapping wasn't best or that supertrapping was too risky the rollout proved me wrong.
My big trap play didn't show up on GNU's initial filter since default GNU 2 ply only looks at the top 8 plays on 0 ply. I think my choice was 9th or 10th. Anyhow, I addressed this problem in my rollout by expanding the filter to put more 0 ply plays thru 2 ply. The issue with this 42 is that there are more than 8 possibly good plays with an evaluation that is closish on 0 ply.
IMO, one could care less whether GNU or Snowie 4(if using that) would missplay a different situation where not trapping is correct, since, here trapping is right by lots (as verified by a quick rollout) Whether the bot traps superagressively later becomes less important since later the opp has often been forced out anyhow.
Just my opinion... neilkaz ...
PS a main reason to trap agressively now is that you're running out of time
