Neil... I hope I am good enough. I know Stick is good enough to do this when it comes to backgames.

I seriously doubt that hitting on the 2 pt (that checker should be left there to suck it and hopefully for the entire game) and making the 5 prime is the right play since White has plenty of reserve timing. I really think it's worth the downside to hit White off your 3 pt and try to pin him back into a 12 game. If this doesn't work, at least you have more timing and can do things like making White's 6 pt and just playing from there. Sometimes you can continue the fight for your 5 pt from the roof even if hit there next turn...noting you can't dance on a 0 pt board.

Bar/19x 5/3x for me.
