In the second example though, I am slightly confused as to why 155% of players have to pass it for it to be a double.

155% because GNU thinks it is TG (obviously it is not TG).

I'd cube this in practice. Plenty of people would pass this now. You could always try to run a guy and then cube but you might end up losing your market that way.
