Many times the location of the cube determines the approach you want to take with your checker play.
Blue has two choices... avoid contact and try to win the race which he is slightly ahead currently... Somehow overcoming the two gaps in his board...
Or, hitting and making the game a kind of one shot deal... Where if he gets hit he probably loses and if not he probably wins. In this case the odds would be about 23-13 in his favor if he hits loose.
The cube is worth more to White in a longer game where the equity swings slightly from roll to roll. She will wait until she rolls a set or Blue rolls low, or misses in the bearoff... and then she can time her 4 cube perfectly... and lose only 2 points if she loses the race handily from here.
Blue's best action therefore is to just hit and challenge her to hit back. White can't use the cube effectively from the roof and may fan. Even if hit Blue will have a chance to enter with a 6, possibly even hitting, in most cases.
Deny White the lingering advantage of cube ownership... Hit loose with:
8/5*, 7/6.
