In Response To: Early game cube from the 3 man team tourney in Northbrook (David)

Once again, I stress that I am playing to win the match, not beat GNU or Snowie.

When David called for my advice here, I figured that he felt it was a pass but that it wouldn't hurt to ask his captain for the one cube consult allowed. I thought a bit a figured that this was a close pass, but it sure has play if Blue isn't blown away. I also didn't expect David's opp to attack hard enough to get the most out of his game. I take cubes like this commonly vs weaker players online if I know they aren't aggressive attackers.

An additional consideration is that since we were a 4 person team, if David passes, the player sitting out who is not as strong as David has to play the next game.

All this added up to my thoughts that we'd be slightly better off taking this cube. I told David to take and he complied and was instantly pointed on with 43, but rolled well later and turned things around.

I'd take this again under the same circumstances .. neilkaz ..
