Dream the Impossible Dream

OTB, without the QF, I just play 8/5 2/1 here.
With more thought I am able to see alternative 1's: 4/3 is a "Breaking up is hard to do"-play. The idea is that by keeping flexible and slotting two points we are often able to build both points faster than by first making one, and then targetting the other. However, in this position white is almost entirely stripped, and ahead in the race, and would just love being able to jump while my board is a mess, so I would prefer keeping my board together.
6/5 is sort of a middle road, one blot less, and goor diversification to remake points. However, middle roads are wrong more often than not.
There are even more creative ways of juggling checkers in the home board as well (6/2, 4/1 2/1, 6/5 6/3), but I cannot seem to find any that hold much promise, and tries that leave shots in the outfield seem to be plain wrong, as white has the timing pressure here.
I end up with the straight-forward play.
