Playing simultaneous matches.....

If you play yourself in the finals... You overpaid your entry fees by a factor of two.
Imagine: 64 sheet... entered in the top half... winning 5 matches to reach the finals... against yourself who won 5 matches in the bottom half. So, to achieve your dream all you have to do is win 10 straight matches, (1023-1 against odds, btw) and then you will win 100%.
On the other hand if you had gone to sleep instead of taking that last entry last night... you would have saved $20, and only had to win one more, (6 matches in a row), to win. You could hedge and get your $20 back too, after winning 5 matches.
Rest is underrated.
The thinking is the same for the guy who qualifies in the blitz. Then does so again. He just won 6 matches in a row... and $240, less $80 for entries.
If he had waited to the playoffs after the first qualifying... gotten a bye, and then won those second three matches... he would now WIN the event and $3K or more, with no added out of pocket expen$e. Meanwhile he is MUCH more rested for the playoffs.
Qualifying twice and winning takes as many as 10 wins to win... Makes no sense to me because you eventually get burned out on backgammon and that doesn't usually lead to better play!
