I'm sure I wouldn't pause to look at a cube here OTB. On closer inspection, I see a whopping 16 numbers which make the five point (11, 22, 31, 33, 41, 43, 44, 61, 63 & 64. Plus 55 is a joker and 66 is promising. Of the other 18 rolls, 42 is the only one that doesn't do something constructive. And, it isn't all that bad.
Can white take after the five is made if he can't step up with an ace or deuce? I'm not sure. But, I doubt there is too much lost equity with a double out when it happens since the bar is left to clear.
On the flip side, how often does the position deteriorate? When white steps up, the action is double edged. I'm not sure he would step up with a four. There's a lot of threats with twelve in the zone. I think the only big reverses by the next turn will be when white hits an indirect shot. Those are very big reverses of course.
It looks like there is not much to gain and not much to lose by doubling now. I'll bet it is close and I can't imagine opponent would drop. I would wait and hope to give a tougher cube next turn.
