This was one of the hardest decisions of the match. I determined that 9/8 was the ace, but was it 7/1 or 13/7? After much consideration I settled on 13/7.
I decided that my blitz was out of steam and there were not a lot of gammons left to be won here. Making the ace point left me with two lone attackers on a single point. Not exactly a formidable offensive situation. And Stick had the best 3 point home board with a 4-prime and was poised to improve that quickly. Getting hit was not good at all, so I might not be inclined to attack even if I can. So I settled on the gameplan I thought would clearly win the most games. Make the prime, bring my outfield blot home and win the race. And if Stick hangs around, I may gammon him anyway. I also felt that the prime would not only ease my bringing my checkers home, but would serve some annoyance value if I got hit. Funny, but I did actually consider that it would prevent an escape on double 4-s. Shouldn't have thought too hard about that number I guess.
9/8 13/7
