Recube - skewed score

I do not understand match equity, doubling windows, how to do the math, or how to apply the information. I have Kits book on the subject, but it could be written in another language for all I understand.
I take a simple approach to these positions. I know if I win the score will be 6-0 crawford to 7. That is not easy to overcome by anyone.
If I recube, he has plenty of time to roll a large set and the race is on. Or if I cannot clear the outfield by rolling 1s I could leave a shot to lose. The score would be 6-4 giving my opponent lots of breathing room.
I can also find myself in a recubed position putting the match on the line. Its not in my best interest to give away everything I worked hard for.
At the end of the day, whether its right or wrong I am holding the cube to maintain my winnig position in the score. No Double.
If I am playing white I have to ask myself what are my winning chances? Using the same information already given I should be able to determine to take the cube.
Having said that, because I am unfamiliar how to do the math I find myself getting dinged by the bot for wrong cube decisions. I can get away with my simple analyzes against players of my ability or worse, but to do that against some of you here would end up sending me packing from an ABT tour early.
