Great Passage from a Book

There's one glaring difference in my own experience: Everybody knows what baseball is. When I mention backgammon, people are surprised to discover I'm atill in good enough shape to play a racquet sport.
And oh yeah, another difference: if you reach the uppermost heights in baseball, you'll play on national TV, get your mugshot on the Wheaties box, ride parade floats, and get free beer the rest of your life. Become the world backgammon champion, and you could walk from Times Square to the Golden Gate Bridge without anyone recognizing you.
