Against weaker players, you are more inclined to pass marginal takes if there is no skill left in the position.

However, it is also true that against weaker players you don;t want to just give them points, and you may be more inclined to take small passes if there is lots of skillful decisions to be made.

Seems like here white still has to play if correcly, so I would be inclined to take and make him play it to the end.
