8/5 6/5 gives you a 4-prime, makes the 5-point, and doesn't jeopardize your race lead. White safeties both blots only 11% of the time, so you're very likely to have immediate shots next roll and with a better board. The hitting play (i.e. 18/15*/14) gives white too many return shots.
