More cube action after taking my earlier post

MATT: If you're playing Neil, that's a different story.
Ray: Yep, I wonder how many matches have been given to Neil by these bad redoubles? It is WORSE to redouble Neil, not better.
As an exercise for quite awhile I did this on GG, vs. GGRaccoon. I figured it was better than I was, and i only played it when it was @ 2000 or above rating. Or some much higher rating than I was.
It seemed to me that I ought to be able to just determine that I was the favorite in a position and send it the cube... and the rating odds and skill factors would both work in my favor. I would always escalate the stakes as a favorite, especially in races. When playing a superior opponent it is questionable logic to ratchet up the cube in contact positions.
So hey! Why not double up 5 pips in a 100 pip race with no contact left??
I can tell you from experience:
It is not a wise strategy to jack up the cube because your opponent is better than you are.
It's plausible, yes, but as it turns out, it is BAD in practice.
