More cube action after taking my earlier post

No, not everyone, Bob... Just most. You may also have to play a consolation match right after you lose this one on this technically, and more importanly concetptually bad play... If you spend any time during that match thinking:
I didn't have to be HERE!!! If I hadn't made that stupid redouble when I was winning... Then your mistake is being compounded.
It is better to remain calmly detached throughout, like the famous UBK... However it is not something that everyone can do... So, for them, it is a good idea to actively avoid the situations that are going to cause them an upset stomach or indigestion.
We have all lost worse games than this. You identified 9% hits for white in the position or something. Its nauseating to have that happen, but it will make you projectile vomit, metaphorically, if you have sent over a 4 cube and received a desperation 8 cube in the interim.
Rory seems to be looking for a little positive reinforcement because the rollouts have shown his mistakes were small... I think it is better advice to warn him against making a habit out of this sort of thing.
Recently I asked an agitated Rory how he was doing at a tournament... His answer went something like this:
Fu*king STICK. I told him it was not a double, we had a 4 point lead in doubles and he wanted to double... There was WAY too much play left in the game... but he MADE me double. They took and rewhipped and won an 8 game, and we lost in the doubles!!!!!!!!! Then he stormed off.
Now Rory is rationalizing the same sort of mistake here. Who cares if you redouble and win this pathetic game? The guy has a hopeless position. But if the BOZO who orchestrated that position BEATS you because of your contra-indicated redouble... Even if you justify it by saying "he might have passed it"... You have started the countdown that is going to launch your ass into the stratosphere when it doesn't work!
Rory is not UBK, and neither am I. WE ought to watch out for this type of mistake. EVERYONE should avoid early doubles and redoubles when leading in a match.
I rest my case.
