So hey! Why not double up 5 pips in a 100 pip race with no contact left??

That is perhaps slightly different from the position posted.

How would you feel if you're Stick and you get cubed here? Obviously your feeling going into the match is that you're the greatest player out there and your opponent is significantly weaker by default. So when you see an 8 cube putting the match on the line in a position that has no skill whatsoever for the opponent left to misplay, you're kind of unhappy. So unhappy that you'll probably pass the cube, even though you know it's a trivial scoop...

I don't know if it's correct for Stick to be passing here but I do know I would cube him and find out if he was.
