Suppose one follows the advice of if not sure to not cube. And in the next tournament you have what really was a cube but didn't cube it and won only the two points. And then the opponent starts winning several games to get back in it. Wouldn't that also mess with your psyche? You would be thinking "if only I had not been so pussy with the cube I could have won this match a long time ago". If the cube is really close the chance of him winning on the 8 cube and the chance of him coming back from Crawford will be about the same. Why focus exclusively on only one of those possibilities?
