I have another golf related story:

In the '94 Open at Turnberry during the practice days, I watched Monty, John Daly and Faldo on tuesday. I was sitting right next to the 16th tee as John Daly and the others came up to the tee. I pointed my camera which was hanging around my neck at John Daly, saying: Smile John. He looked at me with a really grumpy face, said a few words to his caddie and then walked over to me, took off my cap to get my camera. I was thinking oh no, that's a lost camera. John then took 3 steps back, pointed the camera at me and said: No you smile! So now I have a great souvenir from the Open.

John Daly is not only a big hitter, a heavy drinker and a fantastic golfer, he's also tremendously carismatic. On the range when alle the super stars were warming up, you just couldn't help watching him even if Norman, Faldo, Ballesteros and the other super stars were right next to him. All my photos show that the vast majority of the crowd were also looking at John. He also caused the biggest applause of all when he pulled out his driver as the crowd was just waiting for him to hit it through the range.
