In Denmark it's not uncommon for people to handrecord themselves while on the clock. In Denmark we play 2 minutes pr. game and 12 secs pr. turn.

It can be done without hurting your game once you get a bit of experience. You make your play and then record in a matter of seconds while the opponent rolls.

Some record it directly into Snowie or Gnu on a laptop next to the board, needless to say with the pip count turned off.

Some even agree to play directly on the bot, without the pip count, using the bots random dice. One player will have to play upside down but the player suggesting playing on the laptop usually don't have a problem playing upside down.
