Something of this sort arose in my match with Julius, he had the 11 to play. He made the same play you did, the same play many ppl do before they look at an analysis. I told him afterwards in any such position always make the 4pt. It usually ranges from whopper to double whopper depending on the situation but there is rarely if ever a reason to make the other play which scoots checkers around inefficiently.
