I think you make your position clear here, and all you'll maybe do is tweak a word or phrase here and there. From the discussion that follows, you might want to make it clear where you stand on hand-recording one's own match.

It doesn't matter whether or not you think it's an "aid", if as director you choose to forbid the practice. If instead you decide to permit it, then you have a slight burden of proof regarding whether it's an "aid" or not. If it were my decision, I would forbid it, but I recognize there are two sides to this one and will support whichever way you go with it.

Why I don't want my opponent recording by hand: I don't want to be halfway through a pip count, trying to keep track of a running one, or just looking closely at three options on my play, and hear him ask: "Say, what did you roll right before I doubled?" or "Did I play my 63 legally two turns back?" It wouldn't happen a lot, but whenever it did I'd find it pretty irritating, and I think other players would also.
