Amazingly... How about this? You are a mom driving your 3 or 4 year old someplace and bump something that causes the airbag to deploy, which in turn decapitates your kid. That used to happen! Look ma, no head.

Now they have car seat laws. Wow. Airbags invariably cause burns when they deploy... on arms or face or wherever.

We have to be careful extricating victims lest the airbags deploy during the rescue. Pressurized cylinders activate those things and we cut through A and B posts with our cutters.

Oh by the way, on TV every time there is a wreck the car explodes. IRL, it is more like a 100-1 shot, even if the car is on fire. Maybe the fuel tank melts and there is a temporary noticeable increase in fire intensity. But they don't BLOW UP.

So, JUMPING out of your car and over the median in panic, might not be called for... but getting out before something else hit you was a good idea, Stick.
