Very interesting position with many playable options.
13/5(2)
22/18(2), 13/9(2)
22/18(2), 8/4(2)
22/14*, 8/4(2)
22/14*(2)
Up in the race I feel it's urgent to get the back guys moving since we want to start disengaging if possible. Up in the match and the cube centered also argue for at least advancing the anchor, since an advanced anchor will prevent the opponent from cubing anytime soon.
I like 14*(2) since this is kinda thematic and it rips away one of the opponents builders, postponing his board building. The downsides to this play are that getting a 4th checker sent back will make it easier for the opponent to get an advanced anchor or even a backgame of some sort. Besides with 3 checkers on the 24 point, white is desperate to do something about these checkers. Building the 4 point makes this harder for white but we can't do that if we run all the way with this joker.
