I wouldnt dream of rolling out with gnu as I basically consider it to have a bug in these positions.

I had higher hopes for snowie 4, but after having played one(!) game against it in the mentioned setup I realize it doesn't play it correctly either.

I have some experience in that scenario, enough to know that the correct strategy once you have hit a checker is to assemble a prime and roll it home. You have to risk his checker coming home in this process, you cannot spread your checkers too much just to hit him back as snowie does.

What we could have needed in this pos is to be able to manually roll it out against snowie and once we reach a position we know the bot understands we let it finish the game itself. Of course also with variance reduction techniques so a 200 rollout or so would be sufficient to get some reasonable results.

Probably zbot would implement something like this, but the program never seems to hit the market.
