In the Crawford game you need a natural gammon. If you point on him on the two and he enters with a five you are not going to be able to contain him. I think it easier to contain him and, perhaps, get a second checker by letting him play from here. I play 15/9, 7/3. If he doesn't roll a 3-4, 3-5, or 3-6 he's got to break something else. And if he does roll the 3-4 I get a return on the blot in his home board. Probably only an indirect for the moment, but he's still contained. Maybe I can prime him then and seriously work on getting a second checker, much more preferable to just trying to close out the one checker, with the inherent risks of letting him get away.
