Very simple to understand the final MEqs - the trailer has a steeper hill to climb being outscored 6:2 than being outscored 4:0 because he is down 4 points in a shorter match with the former.
Obviously, saying "about 25%" is different than "exactly 25%" and that is certainly part of the problem. If it is actually "25.5% and you only give the takers 25% wins, then you are clearly cheating them.
But lets say that it is exactly 25%. Here's what I still see wrong. If we are in the always passing scenario and assume that the takepoint was exactly 25% at each of those scores, and in each game we were exactly at the 25% mark when given the cube, then clearly we gave up no equity by passing. However, in the always taking scenario each game is played for 2 points, and we don't know which of the 4 games we will win and what the progression of scores will be, but since many of the possible scores are different, the takepoints at these different scores will not be the same - some will be higher than 25% and some will be lower. The ones that are lower, we don't lose equity by taking, but the ones that are higher we do lose equity as the take is then an error.
