Probably boring because it was one of the few you lost.
This position, in my estimation, is similar to the clearing "straightforward 2-3 play" discussed here. By clearing the bar blue eliminates any immediate shots while white has to run or crunch -- or both in certain sequences. Don't clear the bar and white may have the chance at an immediate shot before he crunches. Both positions are great clearing opportunities significantly influenced by the opponent's timing considerations.
And, it being the Crawford game in the subject circumstance, blue must win first before playing on. Further, we all know, one can't win a gammon without winning the game. Win the game first. Next game, with a 2-cube, if a reasonable gammon chance checker play choice presents itself, you can choose to play for 4.
