On the turn you have to sniff out that monster. He has it, you can smell it in the air at these stakes. Why is that you may ask? If he has a normal AX he raises on the flop. He's not going to give you a free turn and river by check/calling then check/check. So AX is out. Also at these stakes about everyone and their mother check raises this flop on a diamond draw, I can easily not put him on this hand. He raised UTG which could be anything, if he did raise on some gimp hand preflop then that 5 would have helped him severely (78 suited best eg). I wouldn't put him on this hand, but it is a small possibility and also a reason why I wouldn't bet the turn. The hands I put him on are A4, A6, small chance he's on AK or AQ, 44, 66. These are the hands I have him on the way the hand went down. Obviously if this is my read there's no way I'm betting on the turn, I'll try to hit my 2 outer and fold otherwise. [yes, you heard me, fold if he bets out on the river!]
I hit the best possible card on the river, the 9 of hearts. He bets out, I raise since every hand I put him on I can now beat, he 3 bets and I'm still convinced he's on one of the hands I pegged him for, so I cap. I was right, I rule, and he bitches about his bad luck. Any questions? :)
