I make my 5-point. If he fans (9 shots against the 3 pt board vs. only 4 against the alternative 2 pt board) I have decent play for a second checker and/or building a better board. Who knows, maybe he ultimately has to crunch, or I get a 1-x, then a 6-x -- or, more wonderfully a 1-6, while he's trying to come in and not get closed out. Opponent's sometime do funny things under pressure but play fairly well against 2 pt boards with 2 blots supported by a five prime on their offensive side.
